HomeHistory

A group of twelve nurses began meeting in January of 1981 with the purpose of expanding their knowledge of oncology nursing. The group grew to 47 members and elected officers.

Our first president was Pat Reymann, Vice President Sheila Pegram, Secretary Iris Dunham and Treasurer Judy Holcombe.

As interest grew among oncology nurses it was decided to petition the Oncology Nursing Society for inclusion in the national organization, and on November 20, 1981 the Central Alabama Chapter received its charter from Oncology Nursing Society President Connie Yarbro.

We have continued to grow over the years and are now proud to include approximately 100 dedicated professionals in our organization.
